Aroma:

This oil has a grassy aroma with grated apple skins and quite strong woody nuts.  There is also a touch of lemon citrus and green bananas.

Taste:

The flavours open with a sweet nutty taste and some lightly herbaceous tones with culinary herbs and perfumed fruit.  This is followed by quite sharp pepper mixed with almond skin bitterness which both linger into the aftertaste with the bitter tones coming to the fore. The flavours of nuts and dark herbs return sweetening a little as the after taste fades.

Style:

This is a medium style of oil with well-balanced fruit, bitterness and pepper.

Overall Assessment:

This is a good commercial oil of its type. However, it could just be a little too bitter for those who like very gentle oils.

Nevertheless, it should work well in most culinary applications and could be used as a dip and for finishing and dressing savoury dishes.
